Lebanon arrests suspects over rocket fire at Israel

Lebanese security forces have apprehended several individuals in connection with recent rocket launches targeting Israel, incidents that have threatened to destabilize the delicate truce established in November. According to Lebanon’s General Security agency, investigations are underway to determine those responsible and proceed with legal action.

Local media reported that the Lebanese Army arrested multiple suspects, including Lebanese nationals and at least one Palestinian, for their suspected roles in the attacks. Security officials emphasized that the search for additional suspects is being pursued with urgency and seriousness.

Suspicions and Regional Reactions

Sources cited by Al-Arabiya television indicated that both Syrian and Palestinian individuals are among those detained. While the investigation is still unfolding, authorities believe they are close to identifying the faction behind the rocket attacks.

Hezbollah, which was involved in a major conflict with Israel last year, has distanced itself from these recent incidents. The group denied any role in the rocket launches that occurred on March 22 and March 28. Despite this, the attacks prompted Israel to retaliate with an airstrike targeting Hezbollah’s stronghold in Beirut—marking the first such strike since the ceasefire agreement began.
