On Monday, Hezbollah launched a missile and artillery attack on a group of soldiers stationed at al-Tayhat hill. In retaliation, the Israeli military conducted an airstrike in Mays al-Jabal, a town along the southern border.
The previous day, Hezbollah had initiated eight separate assaults against northern Israel, the Golan Heights (which is under Israeli occupation), and Shebaa Farms. This included a barrage of 60 rockets targeting two Israeli military bases in the Golan Heights, which was in response to Israeli military actions in Baalbek.
This flare-up of violence, particularly the Sunday attack in the Baalbek region, situated roughly 100 kilometers from the Lebanon-Israel border, disrupted a brief period of peace that had lasted about 10 days.
