The judiciary in Lebanon has taken control of all assets owned by Gabriel, Jihad, and Carole Murr. This action comes amid allegations of misappropriation of funds, as reported by the Lebanese network MTV, which is a creation of the Murr family.
MTV’s coverage included a statement that the judiciary’s decision to confiscate all properties, businesses, and shares of Gabriel, Jihad, and Carole Murr substantiates the accusations of embezzlement against them. These allegations contrast with their long-standing claims against MTV chairman Michel Murr, accusing him of similar misconduct.
In response, Jihad and Carole Murr issued a statement criticizing Michel Murr for disseminating what they call false information about their family and their father. They referred to the recent report on asset seizure as an example. They clarified that the current asset seizure is merely a provisional measure based on a lawsuit that they argue contains numerous inaccuracies and unfounded charges. It does not represent a final legal judgment. They also indicated their intention to pursue legal avenues to overturn this provisional asset seizure.
