An Israeli strike on Thursday targeted the primary civil defense facility in the eastern Baalbek region, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 individuals, including eight civil defense personnel. The Lebanese health ministry reported that body parts were recovered, and rescue operations remain ongoing.
The ministry condemned the attack, describing it as the second strike on a health emergency facility within a span of two hours. Civil Defense confirmed that eight of their personnel from the Baalbek regional center were among those killed.
In a separate incident in southern Lebanon, another Israeli strike hit the village of Arabsalim, targeting the Islamic Health Committee, a civil defense and rescue organization affiliated with Hezbollah. This attack claimed the lives of six people, including four paramedics.
