Israeli Special Forces Storm Nasser Hospital

Israeli special operations teams have made their way into the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, as confirmed by both the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the health ministry controlled by Hamas in Gaza.

Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the IDF, disclosed that the operation was based on reliable intelligence, which suggested that Hamas might have used the hospital to detain hostages and possibly store the remains of those deceased. However, the IDF has not made this intelligence public.

Hagari described the IDF’s activity in the hospital as “a precise and focused operation.”

According to Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, a representative for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Israeli forces have transformed the Nasser Medical Complex into a de facto military base. This transformation followed the destruction of the hospital’s southern barrier, which Israeli forces used as an entry point. Dr. Al-Qidra also mentioned that Israeli military bulldozers were excavating what were believed to be mass graves within the hospital’s premises.

This military action follows an event where hundreds of civilians, who were taking refuge in the hospital, were compelled by Israeli forces to evacuate.

Footage captured on Tuesday within the hospital vicinity shows smoke rising near the hospital, an Israeli bulldozer demolishing part of the hospital’s wall, and an armored vehicle making its way onto the hospital grounds amidst the sound of gunfire.

There have been reports from doctors and health officials claiming that in the days leading up to the incursion, several individuals attempting to exit the hospital complex were fatally shot by Israeli snipers.
