Israeli state media reported on Thursday that the Israeli army is ready for a ground maneuver in Lebanon.
According to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, the army has informed the government that it has completed preparations for this maneuver, which would be preceded by intense airstrikes.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress on Wednesday, stating that while Israel prefers diplomatic solutions, it will take necessary actions to ensure the security of its northern border, where daily clashes with Lebanon’s Hezbollah have been ongoing.
“Let me be clear: Israel will do whatever it must to restore security to our northern border and return our people safely to their homes,” Netanyahu said, referring to those displaced by the conflict.
