On Saturday, an Israeli airstrike targeted the outskirts of the southern town of al-Baysariyeh in the Sidon district, marking the second such attack since the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire came into effect.
According to Israeli army radio, the strike was aimed at a site believed to house Hezbollah rocket launchpads.
This follows a similar airstrike on Thursday, when the Israeli military reported that a warplane had attacked a Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon, allegedly containing medium-range rockets. The area struck on Thursday was the same as the one targeted on Saturday.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) emphasized their presence in southern Lebanon, stating they are actively preventing any violations of the ceasefire agreement.
An Israeli official informed U.S. news outlet Axios that the U.S. was notified in advance of Thursday’s attack.
In a separate incident earlier on Saturday, Lebanon’s health ministry reported that an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in southern Lebanon left three people injured, including a child. The strike, which hit a Renault Rapid-type vehicle in Majdal Zoun, was confirmed by local media, which noted that the vehicle was unoccupied at the time.
