The Israeli military announced that during an air raid in Lebanon, they targeted and killed a commander from Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Forces, named Ali Ahmed Hussein. This operation occurred in the Sultaniyeh area of southern Lebanon, amid escalating tensions and violence across the border. Israel accuses Hussein of launching attacks against it in recent months.
The strike also resulted in the deaths of at least two other individuals. According to Israeli forces, Hussein was responsible for numerous attacks launched from Lebanon into Israeli territory since the conflict with Hamas began on October 7. The Israeli statement highlighted Hussein’s leadership role within the Radwan Forces in the Hujeir region and noted the deaths of two additional Hezbollah fighters in the strike.
Hezbollah confirmed the death of one of its members, Ali Ahmed Hussein, also known as Abbas Jaafar, without specifying the details of his death or his role within the organization.
A Lebanese security source described Jaafar as a local commander in the Radwan unit, and along with him, two other Hezbollah members were killed in the Israeli operation.
