On Monday, Hezbollah launched an attack targeting Israeli soldiers near the Mattat barracks, coinciding with Israel’s artillery bombardment of several southern Lebanese towns including Dhaira, al-Jebbayn, Tayr Harfa, Aita al-Shaab, Hanine, Shihine, and the al-Hamames hill near al-Khiam. The Marjeyoun plain and Em el-Tout were also shelled.
The previous day, in Kfar Yuval, a border area between Lebanon and Israel, conflict escalated resulting in the deaths of three gunmen who had infiltrated from Lebanon and two Israelis, one of whom was an elderly woman. The clash and subsequent strike marked a significant rise in tensions in the region.
Lebanese media later reported that a group named Kataeb Al-Ezz Al-Islamiya claimed responsibility for the fighters’ involvement.
In response to the missile strike in Kfar Yuval, the Israeli military carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah positions. These strikes targeted the Jabal Safi area in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region. The offensive resulted in a disruption of the power supply in the Mlikh area and parts of Jezzine.
