Israel has launched airstrikes in the southern region in response to Hezbollah’s assaults on Israeli artillery positions

On Sunday, Israel conducted multiple air attacks on towns along the southern Lebanese border, coinciding with Hezbollah’s declaration of a new offensive against Israeli military sites.

The airstrikes included an Israeli jet launching three missiles at a residence in Rab Tlatine and a drone strike on a school in al-Taybeh, as reported by Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV.

Additionally, Israeli jets executed five bombings in the al-Labbouneh region, south of Naqoura. Concurrently, artillery fire hit the vicinities of Yaroun, Maroun al-Ras, and Aitaroun.

In retaliation, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for missile strikes on Israeli artillery units in Dishon.

The Israeli military confirmed that multiple shells had landed in the Shebaa Farms area under their control.

An earlier Israeli airstrike targeted a home in Aitaroun, resulting in the death of Hezbollah member Hussein Salameh, a native of that town.

Hezbollah had previously launched four assaults on Israeli positions on Saturday.

Since the onset of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7, there have been almost daily confrontations along the border between Hezbollah and Israeli forces. These clashes have led to approximately 150 fatalities on the Lebanese side, primarily Hezbollah fighters and their allies, but also at least 17 civilians.

On the Israeli side, the conflict has claimed the lives of at least four civilians and eight soldiers, as per Israeli authorities.
