Iran Accuses Netanyahu of Steering US Policy in Nuclear Talks

Tensions have escalated between Iran and Israel following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent demands regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Netanyahu insists that any agreement with Tehran must involve the complete dismantling of its nuclear infrastructure and address its ballistic missile capabilities. Iran perceives these demands as an attempt to influence U.S. policy in the ongoing nuclear negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized Netanyahu’s statements, asserting that Israel is attempting to dictate the terms of U.S. diplomacy with Iran. Araghchi emphasized that Iran is capable of resisting external pressures and will not allow other nations to determine its foreign policy direction. He also warned that any military action against Iran would be met with immediate retaliation.

The United States and Iran have engaged in three rounds of indirect talks, facilitated by Oman, aiming to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons while lifting U.S. sanctions.

Despite Netanyahu’s calls for a comprehensive dismantling of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, Iran maintains that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes and that its missile program is non-negotiable. The situation remains complex, with Israel considering potential military options and Iran standing firm on its position.
