Real-Life Inception: Scientists Exchange Messages Through Lucid Dreams

In a groundbreaking development reminiscent of the movie *Inception*, scientists have successfully established two-way communication between two people through lucid dreaming for the first time. This experiment was conducted by REMspace, a California-based startup focused on developing technology to enhance sleep and lucid dreaming. Using their innovative tools, researchers managed to exchange a single message between two individuals while they were asleep.

The company utilized “specially designed equipment,” which included a “server,” an “apparatus,” “WiFi,” and “sensors.” However, they did not disclose the precise technology used.

During the experiment, participants slept in separate locations, while REMspace researchers generated a word using a unique language and transmitted it between the two individuals.

Michael Raduga, CEO and founder of REMspace, commented on the breakthrough: “Just yesterday, communicating in dreams seemed like science fiction. Tomorrow, it will be so common we won’t be able to imagine our lives without it.” He emphasized that this discovery could revolutionize how we perceive communication in the dream world and open the door to numerous commercial applications.

Though the technology still requires further review and replication, REMspace suggests that it could become a significant milestone in sleep research, with potential uses in mental health treatment and skills training.

Here’s how the experiment unfolded:

The participants slept in separate homes, with their brainwaves monitored remotely by the equipment, which transmitted data to a server. The server detected when one of the participants entered a lucid dream. At that point, a random word was created using a special language and transmitted to the participant via earbuds. The individual then repeated the word in their dream, and the response was recorded in the server.

Eight minutes later, the second participant also entered a lucid dream. The message stored by the first participant was then sent to her by the server, and she repeated the word after waking up, successfully completing the communication process.
