The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have broadcasted a set of urgent guidelines for the residents of Gaza, detailing safe travel routes amid escalated conflict near Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The IDF disseminated these instructions in Arabic, along with a map, on various platforms. The communication explains that due to the intensified military activities and the advancement of Israeli forces in the Khan Younis area, the primary Salah Al-Din route, which stretches from north to south through the center of Gaza, is now inaccessible to civilians.
As an alternative, the IDF has opened a different pathway along the western side of Khan Younis, specifically the coastal road. This route will enable humanitarian access to central parts of Gaza, including Deir Al-Balah, a region currently experiencing a high concentration of displaced individuals, as reported by the United Nations.
Furthermore, the IDF declared a four-hour pause in military operations in the Rafah camp in the south. This temporary suspension is intended to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
However, due to the disrupted communication services and internet access in Gaza, it remains uncertain how many people in the region have received and can act upon the IDF’s instructions.
