On Sunday, two individuals, described as civilians, tragically lost their lives in northern Israel when an anti-tank missile, launched from Lebanon, struck their residence in the border town of Yuval. The victims were a man in his 40s and his mother, in her 70s, according to Israeli rescue teams. Despite a government evacuation of over 40 towns along the northern border in October, this family remained in Yuval, reportedly due to their agricultural work. Hezbollah claimed the missile was aimed at Israeli military personnel and caused casualties.
The ongoing conflict has led to the evacuation of more than 115,000 Israelis from the northern region. Reports from the Associated Press indicate that, in Israel, rocket attacks from Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of 12 soldiers and seven civilians, and injuries to over 170 people. On the other side, Hezbollah has announced that it has lost at least 150 fighters and 20 civilians in the frequent clashes. The conflict has also forced tens of thousands of Lebanese to flee their homes near the border.
Since the escalation of tensions in October, Israel reports that over 2,000 rockets and 350 drones have been fired from Lebanon into its territory.
