Senior Hezbollah official Sayyed Hashem Safieddine addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military, stating that their current actions will not bring security or peace to the northern settlers, preventing them from returning to their homes.
Safieddine emphasized that the only solution is to stop the killing, destruction, and massacres in Gaza, which would lead to de-escalation on the southern Lebanon front. He made these remarks during a ceremony marking 40 days since the assassination of Hezbollah military chief Fouad Shukur, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut’s southern suburbs. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched over 320 rockets at northern Israel and sent suicide drones toward central Israel on August 25.
Safieddine highlighted that, after Shukur’s death, Hezbollah demonstrated through its actions that it has become fiercer, stronger, and more willing to act. He noted that Shukur’s assassination has placed Tel Aviv as a target in Hezbollah’s operations, as demonstrated by their attack on Israel’s Unit 8200 in the Glilot area.
He concluded by stating that the resistance will not be deterred by the attacks or killings, promising that Hezbollah will only grow stronger in the future.
