Hezbollah Damages 512 Houses in Ongoing Attacks on Northern Israel

Israeli artillery units targeted several towns in southern Lebanon on Thursday, in response to Hezbollah’s attack on an Israeli post in the Shebaa farms area.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for striking surveillance equipment at the Radar post. Meanwhile, Israeli forces shelled the Lebanese towns of Yarine, al-Jebbayn, Em el-Tout, and the outskirts of al-Hebbariye.

Overnight, an Israeli drone attack damaged an ambulance belonging to the Islamic Risala Scout Association, which is affiliated with the Amal Movement, in the border town of Blida. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the paramedics escaped unharmed, as reported by the Islamic Risala Scout Association.

Additionally, a Hezbollah fighter was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residence in Beit Lif.

On the Lebanese side, over 200 people, predominantly Hezbollah fighters, and more than 20 civilians, have lost their lives, while Israel has reported 18 fatalities. The conflict has resulted in the displacement of tens of thousands of people on both sides.

According to Israeli media, Hezbollah’s attacks have caused damage to 512 homes in northern Israel. Several homes in Metula, Kiryat Shmona, Manara, Melkia, Avivim, Zar’it, Shtula, Hanita, and Shlomi have been completely destroyed. Israeli soldiers have often been stationed in these evacuated houses. Due to the proximity to Hezbollah squads, there is no warning time for rocket launches in towns closest to the border, leading Israel to evacuate about 60,000 residents. Hezbollah has stated in various announcements that it has targeted groups of soldiers gathered in these houses, causing casualties.

In Lebanon, opinions are divided regarding Hezbollah’s role in the conflict. Some criticize the group for risking a war that could devastate the already crisis-stricken country, while others support Hezbollah’s involvement, believing its arsenal could deter further escalation by Israel.
