War? Gallant Orders Troops to Prepare for Lebanon Ground Operation

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant oversaw military drills in northern Israel, instructing troops to prepare for a possible ground operation in Lebanon. The exercises simulated ground combat on Lebanese soil.

“I’m impressed by the determination and professionalism shown over the past year, both in the North and the South,” Gallant said during the exercises.

He emphasized that the focus is now shifting to the northern region. “While we are concluding our operations in the South, a critical mission remains in the North: to restore security and enable residents to return to their homes.”

Gallant added, “In the South, I gave the order to proceed after three weeks. The same will happen here, and you must be ready when the time comes.”

Using an analogy, Gallant said, “This arrow is ready to be fired, and we will know when to release it. Use this time to prepare wisely.”

Reflecting on past operations, Gallant mentioned that some troops initially believed the entry into Gaza was just talk. “Within a week, I saw those same soldiers on the battlefield,” he noted. He concluded by assuring the troops that they have everything they need to “complete the mission” when called upon.
