The G7 nations have issued a warning that “no country stands to benefit from further escalation in the Middle East,” as global leaders convened in New York for the U.N. General Assembly.
In a statement from the G7 foreign ministers, they cautioned that “actions and counter-reactions could intensify this dangerous spiral of violence and potentially drag the entire Middle East into a larger regional conflict with devastating consequences.” The statement called for an immediate end to “the current destructive cycle.”
