The Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) has welcomed the recent statements made by Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, particularly regarding his views on Hezbollah, its martyrs, and the issues of dialogue, coexistence, and Lebanon’s unity.
The FPM’s media department issued a statement noting that Geagea’s remarks align with the FPM’s own stance of openness. They acknowledged Geagea’s recognition that electing a president is essential to resolving Lebanon’s crises. The FPM urged Geagea to engage in the parliamentary consultations called for by Speaker Nabih Berri.
The FPM also suggested that the Lebanese Forces could demonstrate flexibility on minor procedural issues, emphasizing that these should not hinder the crucial task of electing a president who adheres to the National Pact. They stressed that this is the only way to prevent the further disintegration of the state and the collapse of the country.
