On Friday morning, an Israeli drone strike on the coastal border town of al-Naqoura in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of two people. Earlier that night, another strike on Hanaway, a town in the Tyre district, left five people with minor injuries, according to the health ministry.
Later in the day, Israeli warplanes carried out an air raid on a forested area between Kfakela and Deir Mimas, which was also hit by artillery fire. Additionally, Israeli artillery targeted the southern border town of al-Khiam, while Hezbollah responded by attacking soldiers in Metula, located in northern Israel.
On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned that Israel would fully engage its military against Hezbollah if the Lebanese group continued its cross-border “aggression.”
Since Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, Hezbollah has been engaging in almost daily exchanges of fire with Israeli forces in solidarity with their ally Hamas, heightening fears of a broader conflict. These concerns have intensified following Israel’s killing of Hezbollah’s top military commander, Fouad Shukur, in an airstrike in a Beirut suburb last week.
