The Creative Arts Emmys: A variety of winners, including Judith Light, Sam Richardson, and Ed Sheeran

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards held on Saturday witnessed several first-time winners like Judith Light and Sam Richardson, marking significant milestones in their careers. Judith Light, at 74, won her first Emmy for her performance in an episode of “Poker Face,” a comedy-mystery series on Peacock. She expressed her gratitude for the recognition backstage.

Sam Richardson, aged 39, also bagged his first Emmy for his role in “Ted Lasso,” the Apple TV+ series leading this year’s comedy nominations. Richardson portrayed a billionaire soccer enthusiast from Ghana.

Ed Sheeran won an Emmy in the Original Music & Lyrics category for his song “A Beautiful Game,” featured in the season 3 finale of “Ted Lasso” and produced by Max Martin.

The two-part ceremony, which commenced on Saturday and continued on Sunday, precedes the main Emmy event scheduled for January 15, hosted by Anthony Anderson.
