New Clashes Break Out Along the Lebanon-Israel Frontier

On Saturday, Israel launched artillery fire at the outskirts of several southern Lebanese border towns, including Naqoura, Kfarshouba, al-Wazzani, Blida, Mhaybib, al-Dhayra, Alma al-Shaab, and Tayr Harfa. This action followed reports of Hezbollah’s assaults on Israel’s Misgav Am and a surveillance installation near al-Wazzani.

The Israeli military confirmed that it responded overnight to unidentified launches from Lebanon directed at Israeli territories.

Additionally, Israeli fighter jets conducted airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. These strikes reportedly resulted in injuries and heavily impacted the town of Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Hezbollah disclosed the death of one of its members from Aita al-Shaab, attributing it to Israeli gunfire in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah had earlier declared responsibility for an attack on the Israeli Ramia post, claiming it led to casualties. The group had also initiated several attacks on Friday.

Hezbollah stated its involvement in the conflict began on October 8 in support of Hamas, following the latter’s extensive assault on southern Israel the previous day.

Since October 7, over 120 fatalities have been reported on the Lebanese side, predominantly consisting of Hezbollah combatants and some civilians, based on an AFP count.

Israel reports the loss of six soldiers and four civilians in the region, with Lebanon experiencing its first military casualty in these exchanges this past Tuesday.
