Chelsea vs Fulham Prediction: 26/12/2024

Chelsea is currently on an excellent run, having won eight consecutive matches across all competitions. Ahead of their match against Everton on Sunday, the Blues are in great form, especially after a commanding 5-1 victory over Shamrock Rovers, which wrapped up their European group stage. In the Premier League, Chelsea is performing strongly, sitting in second place, just two points behind Liverpool as the mid-season break approaches. Their recent league victories include a 5-1 win at Southampton and a 4-3 triumph at Tottenham.

In contrast, Fulham is in eighth place in the Premier League and will face Southampton, who are currently at the bottom of the table. The Cottagers have enjoyed an unbeaten streak in their last four matches, including a win and three draws, with notable results against Arsenal and Liverpool. Fulham has also been solid away from home, losing only twice in their last eight road games.

Chelsea will be missing several key players, including defenders James and Fofana, and young striker Kellyman. Forward Mudryk is also suspended due to a positive doping test. However, they will welcome back left-back Cucurella, who missed the last match due to suspension. Chelsea’s top scorer in the Premier League is Palmer with 11 goals, followed by Jackson with 9.

Fulham, meanwhile, is dealing with injuries to central defender Andersen, midfielder Reed, and winger Nelson. Despite this, Iwobi and Jimenez, who both have five goals, have been key contributors for Fulham. However, Jimenez has struggled to score in the Premier League in the last two months. Midfielder Smith Rowe, with three goals, has also played an important role.

Prediction

Chelsea has an excellent home record, winning 13 out of their last 17 home games, including a victory over Fulham earlier this year. Fulham, on the other hand, has struggled away, earning points in only five of their last 17 away matches.

Prediction: Chelsea 5 – 1 Fulham.
