Carvajal dismisses Real Madrid jealousy rumors over Mbappe transfer

Real Madrid is gearing up for the anticipated arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain during the upcoming summer transfer window. Mbappe has expressed his wish to leave PSG in February, setting the stage for his transfer to the Spanish club after the season concludes. His move is expected to be finalized before Euro 2024 kicks off, where he will play for France. Real Madrid’s defender Dani Carvajal believes that Mbappe’s transfer will enhance both La Liga and Real Madrid, without causing any unrest within the team.

In an interview with COPE radio, Carvajal indicated that Mbappe’s arrival at the end of the season is a strong possibility and emphasized that having the world’s top talents at Real Madrid is crucial for the club and the league. He highlighted the positive impact of high-profile players joining La Liga, referencing Robert Lewandowski’s transfer to Barcelona as an example that boosts the league’s quality and appeal.

Mbappe is expected to accept a lower salary than his current earnings at PSG to facilitate his move to Madrid, potentially even lower than Jude Bellingham’s. Despite this, Mbappe is anticipated to receive a signing-on fee around $100 million, one of the sport’s largest. Carvajal dismissed any speculation about potential jealousy or negative reactions from teammates regarding Mbappe’s significant signing-on fee. He stressed the importance of veteran players in ensuring team cohesion.

While securing Mbappe is a long-term objective, Real Madrid’s immediate focus remains on winning both the La Liga and the Champions League titles. They are bracing for challenging matchups, including a clash with Manchester City in the Champions League, with possible encounters against Bayern Munich or Arsenal on the horizon.
