Lebanon-Israel Border Clashes: Latest Updates

Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on Tuesday, targeting al-Khiam and the village of Mayfadoun in the Nabatiyeh district, while Hezbollah attacked Avivim in northern Israel.

Hezbollah claimed to have struck a building used by Israeli soldiers in Avivim as retaliation for Israeli strikes on civilians in southern Lebanon.

On Monday, Israeli airstrikes resulted in the deaths of three people, including two Hezbollah fighters and a paramedic.

Tensions have escalated significantly since last week, with Iran and Tehran-backed groups, including Hezbollah, promising retaliation for the assassination of Hamas’s political leader in Tehran and Israel’s killing of Hezbollah’s military chief in Beirut.

Since the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel, which initiated the Gaza war, Hezbollah has been exchanging nearly daily fire with Israel in support of Hamas.

The recent killings have heightened fears of a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah, reminiscent of their conflict in the summer of 2006.
