Berri to respond to French proposal by Friday or Saturday

Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri announced plans to reply by “Friday or Saturday” to a proposal from France aimed at resolving the border conflict between Lebanon and Israel. Berri, who obtained the proposal through the French ambassador in Lebanon, shared with Asharq al-Awsat newspaper that the document contains some acceptable suggestions, although other aspects require adjustments.

He also mentioned that any ceasefire in Gaza would directly extend to southern Lebanon. Additionally, a notable figure from the Shiite Duo informed the newspaper that Hezbollah and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati fully support Berri’s forthcoming response.
