Berri-led delegation heads to Iran to offer condolences for Raisi

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri led a delegation to Tehran on Wednesday to offer condolences following the deaths of Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi, foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials in a helicopter crash.

The funeral, overseen by Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, saw tens of thousands participate in a procession through Tehran to honor the late officials.

The Lebanese delegation included caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, Amal Movement Presidential Committee Member Khalil Hamdan, Berri’s Media Adviser Ali Hamdan, and the Head of Parliament’s Media Department Ali Diab.
