In a recent statement by the Pentagon, it was revealed that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held a phone conversation focusing on various regional security concerns. Prominent among these was the discussion on the destabilizing actions of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
During their call on Thursday, the ministers also delved into Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza. They talked about the plans for the stabilization phase that is expected to follow the current military campaign. Additionally, they addressed the topic of attacks by Iran-aligned groups on U.S. forces stationed in Iraq and Syria, as well as the Houthi offensives impacting international maritime activities in the Red Sea.
