Mikati: Peace requires deterring Israel

On Tuesday, Acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati made an appeal to the global community, urging them to halt Israeli hostilities and to pursue peaceful resolutions in the region.

Mikati emphasized that achieving peace and prosperity in the region necessitates the cessation of Israeli actions against southern Lebanon and Gaza. He stressed the importance of enforcing Israel’s compliance with international mandates, particularly Resolution 1701, and insisted on Israel’s withdrawal from all Lebanese territories that remain under its occupation.

He called upon the Lebanese populace to come together and consistently urge the international community to restrain Israel and facilitate the establishment of peace in the region.
