Wolverine returns? Hugh Jackman’s Stunt Double Shares Avengers: Doomsday Set Photo

Marvel Studios has officially announced that several original X-Men actors will reprise their roles in the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday,” scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. Notably, Hugh Jackman’s name was absent from the initial cast list, leading to widespread speculation about his potential involvement. However, recent developments suggest that Jackman may indeed return as Wolverine.

Daniel Stevens, Jackman’s longtime stunt double, recently shared a photo from Pinewood Studios in London, the confirmed filming location for “Avengers: Doomsday.” This has fueled rumors about Jackman’s participation in the film. While Jackman has neither confirmed nor denied his involvement, his recent social media activity, including training videos, has further intensified speculation.

In “Avengers: Doomsday,” Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will unite with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four to confront Doctor Doom and his army of meta-human variants from across the multiverse. Robert Downey Jr. is set to portray Doctor Doom, marking a significant shift from his previous role as Iron Man. Chris Hemsworth is confirmed to return as Thor, and Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki.

The film, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, is part of Marvel’s Phase Six and follows “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which is set to release in July 2025. “Avengers: Doomsday” was initially scheduled for May 2026 but has been postponed to December 18, 2026.
