Bou Saab Hints Ceasefire Possible Within Weeks

Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab stated on Friday that Israel is compelled to seek a diplomatic resolution with Lebanon, adding that current conditions favor such an approach.

“We anticipate the U.S. mediator will visit the region next week,” Bou Saab said to Sky News Arabia, expressing optimism that a ceasefire could be achieved within a few weeks.

He further commented that Israel’s aim is not to eliminate Hezbollah entirely but to establish a weapons-free zone in southern Lebanon, noting that a full-scale ground invasion was never the main objective of Israel’s operation.
