Netanyahu Urges UN Chief to Relocate Lebanon Peacekeepers ‘Out of Harm’s Way’ Immediately

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the U.N. Secretary General on Sunday to withdraw U.N. peacekeepers stationed in southern Lebanon to protect them from danger.

In a video statement from his office, Netanyahu said, “Mr. Secretary General, remove the UNIFIL forces from harm’s way. This must be done immediately.”

His call comes after at least five U.N. peacekeepers were injured in recent days during ongoing clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
