AC Milan vs Venezia Prediction: 14/9/2024

Captain Morata, who scored on the opening day, will unfortunately miss this match due to injury. He joins starters Thiaw and Bennacer, backup goalkeeper Sportiello, forward Jovic, and veteran defender Florenzi on the sidelines. AC Milan will look to the leadership of Tricolores Maignan and Theo Hernandez.

Wingers Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao remain with the club. Olivier Giroud, who had an impressive spell in Lombardy, moved to Los Angeles FC this summer. Other notable departures include De Ketelaere (Atalanta), Saelemaekers (Roma), Krunic (Fenerbahce), Kalulu (Juventus), Simic (Anderlecht), Adli (Fiorentina), Maldini (Monza), Colombo (Empoli), Romero (Alaves), and Pobega (Bologna).

In contrast, the club has strengthened its ranks with the arrivals of defenders Pavlovic (Salzburg), Emerson (Tottenham), and Jimenez (Real Madrid), alongside midfielder Fofana (Monaco) and forwards Morata (Atletico Madrid) and Abraham (Roma).

On the other side, Venezia welcomes back key striker Pohjanpalo, who netted 22 goals in Serie B last season. However, midfielders Bjarkason and Busio remain sidelined due to injury, while backup Jajalo has left the club. In Pohjanpalo’s absence, Gytkjaer, who scored 12 goals last season, has been leading the attack and is expected to do so again in this match.

During the offseason, Venezia parted ways with former French talent Cuisance (Hertha Berlin), although he had not been with the team for over a year and a half due to loan spells. Prediction

AC Milan has been exciting to watch recently, with 11 of their last 16 home matches featuring at least three goals. Similarly, 11 of Venezia’s last 16 away games have also produced over 2.5 goals. Given these patterns, it would be surprising if this game didn’t follow suit.
