Hezbollah-Israel Border Clashes: Latest Updates: 30/8/2024

Israeli warplanes launched overnight strikes on the outskirts of Tayrharfa, Yaroun, Zebqine, al-Naqoura, and Wadi Hamoul in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military also targeted villages along the border, including al-Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab, using flare and incendiary bombs.

In response, Hezbollah fired on the Bayyad Blida post overnight, as well as the Menara and Metula areas on Thursday evening. This exchange of fire between Hezbollah and the Israeli army has been occurring almost daily since the Gaza conflict began, following Hamas’ unexpected attack on Israel on October 7.

Since October 8, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of over 500 people, primarily Hezbollah fighters and members of other armed groups, but also more than 100 civilians. On the Israeli side, 23 soldiers and 26 civilians have been killed in northern Israel. The ongoing conflict has displaced tens of thousands of people on both sides of the border.
