Israeli artillery recently targeted several towns along the border, including Blida, Dhaira, Rashaya al-Fokhar, Kfarshouba, Houla, Markaba, Aitaroun, al-Naqoura, Odeisseh, Maroun al-Ras, Mhaibib, al-Labbouneh, al-Naqoura, and Shihine. This action comes as Hezbollah reported the loss of one of its members.
In one of these towns, Rashaya al-Fokhar, a civilian was injured. Hezbollah retaliated by targeting areas such as Misgav Aam, Khirbet Ma’ar, the al-Raheb post, and Ruwaisat al-Alam using “appropriate weapons.”
Earlier, the Israeli military engaged in machinegun fire towards Lebanon and used flares and shells to target open areas in the south, particularly around Dayr Mimas, Kfakela, and al-Khiam.
The conflict at the Lebanon-Israel border, which has escalated since the Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, has involved mainly clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as other Palestinian groups. This has raised concerns about a wider conflict.
Since October, over 110 people have been killed on the Lebanese side, predominantly Hezbollah fighters and civilians, as reported by AFP. On the Israeli side, there have been six soldiers and four civilian casualties, as stated by Israeli authorities.
