MTV VMAs 2024: Taylor Swift and K-Pop Stars Lead Nominations

The nominees for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) have been announced, featuring a significant presence of K-pop artists, including BTS’s Jung Kook and BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Leading the nominations is Taylor Swift, with a total of 10 nods, closely followed by Post Malone.

Taylor Swift has garnered 10 nominations at this year’s VMAs, reflecting her continued dominance in the music awards scene.

K-pop stars shine at the MTV VMAs:
Jung Kook, the youngest member of BTS, received two nominations for his solo debut song “Seven,” featuring Latto. These nominations are for Best K-Pop and Best Collaboration. BLACKPINK’s Lisa secured four nominations for her solo track “ROCKSTAR,” in the categories of Best Choreography, Best Editing, Best K-Pop, and Best Art Direction.

Taylor Swift earned the most nominations for her music video “Fortnight,” including nods for Artist of the Year and Best Pop. Post Malone follows with eight nominations, plus a ninth for his song “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen.

Nominees for Artist of the Year include Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA. Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Eminem each have six nominations, while Megan Thee Stallion and SZA have five. Other artists with multiple nominations include BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Olivia Rodrigo, and Teddy Swims, each with four.

First-time nominees at the 2024 MTV VMAs:
This year, the VMAs feature 29 first-time nominees, including Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, and Tyla. Other newcomers earning their first nominations include Chappell Roan, Coco Jones, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Jessie Murph, LE SSERAFIM, Rauw Alejandro, RAYE, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tyler Childers, and Victoria Monet.

The 2024 MTV VMAs will be held at the UBS Arena on New York’s Long Island and will air on September 10.
