Geagea Accuses Rival Camp of ‘Lying About Everything’

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has accused the Hezbollah-led coalition of dishonesty. “The Axis of Defiance lies about everything,” Geagea asserted. He pointed out that they claim Christians are not united behind a single candidate, although Christians did support Jihad Azour during the significant June 14, 2023 session.

Geagea emphasized that Christians remain supportive of Azour. He also disputed the need for further dialogue, stating that numerous discussions have already occurred among parliamentary blocs. According to Geagea, this call for dialogue is a pretext to mask election obstruction.

Geagea explained that the rival camp is obstructing the presidential election for two main reasons: their inability to secure a majority for their candidate and their strategy to wait and see how regional events unfold, considering Lebanon is low on their list of priorities.
