Russian Envoy Calls for Restraint to Enable ‘Peace Process’

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Vladimir Safronkov, the Russian foreign minister’s special envoy for Lebanon, on Friday.

According to the National News Agency (NNA), their discussions focused on the situation in southern Lebanon and Gaza, as well as the stalled peace process.

The Russian envoy underscored the importance of all parties exercising restraint to create conditions conducive to reviving the peace process.

Safronkov also highlighted the strong relationship between Lebanon and Russia, emphasizing the importance of strengthening and expanding these ties across various sectors.
