A new speculative paper proposes that advanced “cryptoterrestrials” might be living secretly on Earth or nearby, such as on the moon.
This unreviewed study is a collaboration between researchers from the Harvard Human Flourishing Program and Montana Technological University.
**What Are Cryptoterrestrials?**
The paper introduces the concept of “cryptoterrestrials,” suggesting they are an ancient human civilization more technologically advanced than our own. This civilization is thought to have survived various cataclysms and now exists in hiding.
It posits that these “intelligent beings” could be concealed on Earth, possibly underground, or in nearby environments like the moon.
The study, accepted for publication in Philosophy and Cosmology, proposes that these hidden Earth-dwellers might be behind the unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) commonly attributed to extraterrestrials.
**Human Cryptoterrestrials**
One potential category discussed is “human cryptoterrestrials,” described as a technologically advanced ancient human civilization that largely perished due to events like floods but continues to exist in a diminished form.
Possible habitation sites mentioned in the paper include hidden locations within the Earth, such as volcanoes or deep oceanic trenches.
This idea isn’t entirely new. In 1993, Dr. Shirley Wright, who had been an assistant to Albert Einstein, claimed that the pilots involved in the 1947 Roswell UFO incident were advanced humans living inside Earth.
The study also considers other possibilities for cryptoterrestrials, such as highly advanced non-human primates or reptilian entities, which may conceal their aerial crafts within mountains. Locations like Popocatépetl volcano in Mexico and Mount Shasta in California, both associated with UFO sightings, are proposed as potential habitats for these hidden beings.
Additionally, sightings of Unidentified Submersible Objects (USOs) traveling at supersonic speeds have fueled speculation about cryptoterrestrials living underwater.
The paper even references controversial statements from Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, suggesting that the moon might serve as a base for extraterrestrials.
