Fresh round of Israel-Hezbollah skirmishes on border

Hezbollah fired anti-tank missiles at the Margaliot and Ramim Israeli military posts near the Lebanon-Israel border on Thursday. Simultaneously, the Israeli army shelled southern border areas. An Israeli drone also came under fire over the occupied Shebaa Farms. Earlier, an Israeli drone had fired a missile on the outskirts of the Lebanese border town of Mhaibib, while Israeli artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of Ramia, Beit Lif, Rmeish, and al-Hibbariyeh.

Reports from the National News Agency indicated that fires broke out in the forests of Ramia and Aita al-Shaab due to incendiary shells landing there.

Tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border have been escalating, primarily involving exchanges between the Israeli army and Hezbollah. This escalation began after Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, raising concerns about a potential regional conflict.

According to AFP’s tally, the violence has resulted in 83 deaths on the Lebanese side, including 11 civilians and 59 Hezbollah fighters.
