BEIRUT: Real Madrid are looking for replacements for Jose Mourinho should the Portuguese manager decide to leave the Spanish capital.
One man in the running for the job is Arsene Wenger. Wenger has been the subject of increased criticism from Arsenal fans this season. The criticism has led some to believe that Wenger may finally decide to call it quits at the Emirates. Wenger has been linked in the past with Paris St. Germain, but after the Paris club signed Carlo Ancelotti to a deal, Real Madrid immediately stepped in and expressed interest in Wenger, says Footall365.com.
With current Madrid boss Mourinho seemingly unable to lead the team to victory over Barcelona, it is thought that he might step down from the Madrid hot seat and return to England.
Another person in the running to replace Mourinho should he stand down is Rafa Benitez, according to Insidefutbol.com.
In other news, Football365.com says that Liverpool are after Udinese star Mauricio Isla. The Chilean is a versatile player able to fill in at defense or midfield.
And according to the Daily Mirror, Mario Balotelli’s 19-year-old brother, Enoch, has gone on trial at Sunderland.
Chelsea are also looking to add firepower says eurosport.com. Belgian Kevin de Bruyne is highly rated by his club side Genk and has been linked in the past with many other top clubs around Europe.
A Genk spokesman was quoted as saying that, “de Bruyne will be transferred to Chelsea and then will finish the rest of the season (on loan)at Genk.”
