This Christmas season, “Wonka,” starring Timothee Chalamet, is leading the box office race, significantly outperforming Jason Momoa’s “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” The DC superhero film is struggling to keep pace with the impressive results of “Wonka.” Despite this, the overall holiday season hasn’t been particularly prosperous for Hollywood, as studios and theaters face challenges in drawing audiences away from home comforts.
After the December 25 weekend, “Wonka” secured the top spot, while “Aquaman 2” experienced a decline. The “Aquaman” sequel, starring Jason Momoa, has domestically grossed only $52.5 million, trailing over 55 percent behind its predecessor. However, it has performed better overseas, surpassing $100 million.

Completing the top five is the romantic comedy “Anyone But You.
