On Saturday, the Israeli military announced that it had intercepted a surface-to-air missile fired from Lebanon at an Israeli military drone.
The drone remained unharmed and continued its assigned task. The missile did not enter Israeli airspace and no emergency alerts were activated, as per the standard protocol, the Israeli army stated.
Following the missile launch, Israeli Air Force jets struck what they described as a Hezbollah terrorist facility.
Reports of an Israeli assault on a Hezbollah location in Lebanon have not been confirmed. However, Lebanon’s National News Agency and al-Manar TV did report the detonation of an Israeli interceptor missile in southern Lebanon.
In a separate incident, a resident of Kfarkila in Lebanon had a close call when Israeli forces reportedly fired at his Renault Rapid car, but he escaped without injury.
Additionally, Israeli forces fired warning shots to deter farmers working in the Hounin Valley area.
In northern Israel, alert sirens sounded as the Israeli military claimed to have intercepted an unidentified flying object crossing from Lebanon.
The Lebanon-Israel border remained calm on Friday, coinciding with the beginning of a four-day ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
Hezbollah, not a signatory to the Gaza ceasefire, has indicated through sources that it would respect the truce.
Following the onset of the ceasefire, residents of Lebanese towns affected by the conflict began cautiously returning home.
Since October 8, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have resulted in over 100 deaths, primarily Hezbollah combatants.
