Scottish Uni offers Taylor Swift masterclass for non-Swifties before Eras tour

If you’re a parent of a Taylor Swift fan and want to keep up with the pop icon’s music and style, Glasgow Clyde College has just the thing for you. They’re offering a class to help parents get acquainted with Taylor Swift’s world, just in time for her upcoming concert in Edinburgh this June. This unique educational opportunity is designed to familiarize attendees with Swift’s songs, her dynamic fashion and hair transformations, and the typical chants you’d hear at her shows.

According to the BBC, the class was inspired by the heightened excitement for Swift’s Eras Tour in Scotland. It will cover various aspects of Swift’s career, including her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which recently became a UK chart-topper and includes a nod to Scottish band the Blue Nile. This album also made history by placing all its songs in the Billboard Hot 100.

Robert Anderson, an assistant principal at the college, explained the rationale behind the masterclass to the BBC, noting that not everyone might grasp the nuances of Swift’s performances. The class aims to enhance the concert experience for those accompanying die-hard Swift fans by illuminating the intricacies of her shows.

The class, which is free of charge, will last for 90 minutes and take place at the college’s Langside campus on May 7. With Swift’s concerts known for their elaborate and carefully designed performances, the session promises to help attendees appreciate the “iconic moments” that might otherwise be overlooked.

Swift’s upcoming shows in Edinburgh are expected to be some of the largest stadium concerts ever held in Scotland, with tickets selling out almost instantly. The immense demand has even prompted Police Scotland to issue warnings about potential online ticket scams, following multiple reports from people across Aberdeen, Edinburgh, the Borders, and Lanarkshire.
