Qatar: No deal near for Gaza truce with Israel, Hamas

Qatar has reported that Israel and Hamas are far from reaching an agreement on ending the hostilities in Gaza and the release of hostages. “We are not close to securing a deal, which indicates a lack of consensus on the terms necessary to address the ongoing disagreement regarding the execution of such an agreement,” said Majed al-Ansari, a spokesperson for the Qatari foreign ministry, during a press briefing. He noted that discussions between the involved parties are still ongoing.
