Hezbollah released a statement claiming it had targeted Israeli artillery positions at the Khirbat Maer post near the border with rocket fire. In response, the Israeli army confirmed that it had received shell fire in the Shomera region in northern Israel, to which it reacted with artillery.
Israeli shelling also hit the outskirts of several southern Lebanese border towns, including Tayr Harfa, Naqoura, Maroun al-Ras, Yaroun, Blida, Alma al-Shaab, and al-Qawzah, as reported by Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV.
Hezbollah also reported the death of another member, Khodor Abboud, a resident of the southern town of Deir Ames.
These incidents occurred as hostilities resumed following a week-long ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The recent Israeli strikes in south Lebanon resulted in the deaths of two Hezbollah members and the mother of one of them on Friday.
