Mikati Calls for End to ‘Genocidal War’ in Talks with Hochstein

Interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati informed visiting U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein on Tuesday that the government’s top priority is to secure a ceasefire, end the aggression against Lebanon, and maintain Lebanese sovereignty throughout its territory.

Mikati highlighted that anything contributing to this goal is a priority for the government.

He stated that the government is focused on the prompt return of displaced individuals to their homes and the cessation of the Israeli destructive war, which is causing significant damage to Lebanese towns.

Furthermore, Mikati stressed the importance of implementing clear U.N. resolutions and strengthening the authority of the army in the southern regions.
