Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has characterized the recent surge in Israeli military actions against Lebanon as an attempt to provoke “an all-out war.”
In a conversation with Asharq al-Awsat newspaper, Berri emphasized Lebanon’s commitment to not being coerced into such a conflict, despite the intensification of Israeli aggression, particularly notable in the last two days.
Berri stressed that Lebanon would not give Israel any pretext for its continued assaults and infractions, regardless of the extent of their escalation.
Furthermore, he urged the international community to pressure Israel to cease its hostilities in Gaza, highlighting that a truce would also benefit southern Lebanon and facilitate the execution of U.N. resolution 1701.
