Jumblat hosts Hezbollah; PSP drafts refugee solutions

Next week, the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) will introduce a proposal aimed at addressing the Syrian refugee crisis to other Lebanese political groups, according to the National News Agency (NNA). This initiative contains practical solutions intended to alleviate the situation.

The NNA reported that Walid Jumblat, the former leader of the PSP, discussed the proposal during a meeting in Clemenceau with a Hezbollah delegation. The attendees included Hussein al-Khalil, a political advisor to the Hezbollah Secretary-General, and Wafiq Safa, who is in charge of Hezbollahโ€™s coordination and liaison committee. Lebanese MPs Wael Abu Faour and Hadi Abu al-Hassan were also present.

The meeting focused on finding a common Lebanese stance on the refugee issue, while also considering the latest local and regional events, including recent military activities in southern Lebanon.
