Israel’s Military Intelligence Chief Resigns After October 7 Hamas Attack

The Israeli military announced that Major General Aharon Haliva has resigned from his role as the chief of the intelligence directorate, taking accountability for the intelligence failures associated with the unprecedented attack by Hamas on October 7. The military confirmed that Haliva had coordinated his resignation with the chief of the general staff, and he will officially step down and retire from the IDF once a successor is duly appointed through a professional process.
